My second most favorite game on the Internet … ATTACK (a Risk Clone) has …. been killed by Zynga (or rather HASBRO) :( :( :( :( A SAD DAY!!
As some of you might know, apart from playing FarmVille, I've been a RISK addict for years and years. Back in the 90's I started a Risk site and I still sites like http://risk.startpagina.nl/
In that time I used to play Risk on Microsoft Zone. There was a tight community there of Risk players. Who scattered around the Internet when it was closed down. In the meanwhile some alternatives arose (see http://risk.startpagina.nl for some). I tried some but somehow after years, when suddenly a friend showed me ATTACK I was going for it again. I absolutely loved ATTACK for being the coolest instant play Risk version and it was nice to meet players there too.
What I learned from other guys setting up Risk games during the years is that Hasbro can be a mean company concerning rights on Risk. One trick seemed to be to make other maps than the original map which seemed to be the clue to let game on. I once posted that also in the ATTACK Forums.
Apparently that did not work. (at least I THINK it is a lawsuit case).
For ATTACK I made some tools I will post them because now I can well... delete them.
- http://kijker.tv/attack/ : an application where you could register cheaters and
- http://kijker.tv/attack.php : where you can jump directly to a certain room (handy to meet people)
- http://kijker.tv/player.php : to look up players profiles
Somewhere in june last year I reached 1000 kills :)
Read the SAD threads in the many ATTACK groups:

etc…
Some background on this:
"They lost the lawsuit, they had no notice themselves. They had to do it and part of the settlement is non disclosure. Thats why they wont tell you what I just did."
I checked TechCrunch etc… but could not confirm this yet.
