Storage Building #3: the Chicken Coop is here!

Today was a BIG day for new features. Since they are several I will post them in several postings.

1. CHICKEN COOP

The threads on forums and blogs on what the next useful special storing building "with a purpose" should be, were long… very long. So I think everyone was very curious to what the next thing would be. And hey… it's here! It's the Chicken Coop! (a certain percentage of users will now jump in the air).

image254 Storage Building #3: the Chicken Coop is here! An "EGG" notification is shown currently on the left of the game with a pretty large egg on there. That is a nice banner for the building #35: the Chicken Coop which occupies 3x2 spaces and resells for 290 coins.

You can buy it both from the marketplace or get it as a gift and you can only get one of it.

When you started the game this day it will jump immediately to the market to give you the offer to buy the chicken coop. It costs a mere 5000 and let's you harvest the chicken within a day.

However… the chicken coop is also giftable! So you can also receive a chicken coop as a gift! (and save yourself the 5000 coins)

After you build it you will notice 2 things:

the first thing is that the Chicken Coop is only available once. After that it is locked. Meaning: you can only buy one.

If you receive it as a gift and you have one already you get a chicken instead.

It takes one day to produce eggs and … you have the chance to produce some mystery eggs!

2. Chickens are now only giftable and pigs no longer are

And now the other news: in the past you could buy chickens from the MarketPlace but as of today (I think to increase social interaction). Chickens are only available as a gift. So I guess we will see lots of users begging for Chickens.

The pig however now is no longer available as a Gift but only available from the marketplace. So they switched places. The Pig costs 1000 Coins and you get 10 XP when placing it. It has a resell value of 50 coins and the same 30 coins that you can earn from it when you collect the truffles from it.

3. Mysterious Eggs

The second thing around the coops is the mysterious message about some Premium White Mystery Eggs. "you might find some special eggs in there too…" . Well now… that is cool. it is … a Premium White Mystery Egg (see below). Right after that we get another instructions: "Get more Mystery Eggs by adding more chickens to your coop! Different color chickens give you better eggs!" … Different Color Chickens?

When you Click it, it will appear on your neigbor's walls.

And I think that leads to… A LOT of Premium White Mystery Eggs filling our walls:

So we have 2 tasks:

1. Add more chicken to our Coop and preferably different colored chickens.

2. Follow the walls and click "Hatch an Egg" to get a new set of objects.

4. Inside The mystery Eggs:

So.. what is inside the mystery eggs? It seems a lot of different stuff. This is what is in my gift box right now:

	A brown chicken which produces uncommon Brown Mystery Eggs which probably produce more interesting things, it will produce premium white mystery eggs. You can sell it for 20 coins… or put it on your land or in the Chicken Coop! It is rotatable, pettable and you let it stay or walk on it own.
	A white Chicken, A pretty regular white chicken … but… it will produce premium white mystery eggs. It sells for 20 coins if you don't want it after all.
	A decoration Flamingo, it sells for 50 coins and was already available and is the one which was already available for 9 Farm Cash (it was actually the first thing I ever bought for Farm Cash)
	A garden gnome (which sells for 75 coins), which was already regularly available for 13 Farm Cash, so that is still nice
	A Chicken Coop (!) but note that you can only get one, so if you already had one you get the message that you get a chicken instead:

Chicken Coops are now available in FarmVille! This Building That Matters is a little different than the Dairy Farm, so keep reading to find out more information!

Chicken Coops can be purchased for 5000 Coins from the Marketplace. Chicken Coops are also a Giftable Item, so make sure to ask your friends to send you one if you don't wish to purchase it.

Chicken Coops can be used once every 24 hours and will yield the sum of all of the Chickens stored within. (For example: if 10 Chickens are placed in the Chicken Coops, and are harvestable for 6 coins apiece, you will receive 60 coins.)

Once your Chicken Coop reaches 100%, it is ready for Harvest. When Harvesting your Chicken Coop, you have a chance to receive a "Mystery Egg".

Mystery Eggs can be White, Brown, Black or Golden. If you receive a Mystery Egg, you will see a pop-up that allows you to post a feed to your wall. This pop-up will also tell you what type of egg you received.

Once you post the feed to your wall, up to 5 of your friends can click on the feed. These friends will receive various items, including different colored chickens!

Please note that you can only have one Chicken Coop on your farm! If a player receives multiple Chicken coops, the additional Chicken Coops will become Chickens that can be used on your Farm.

To place a chicken in the Chicken Coop, click on a chicken, and select the "Move" option. You will then be able to hover the chicken over your Chicken Coop and release it. When the chicken is hovered over the Chicken Coop, the Chicken Coop will light up with a yellow outline.

To remove a chicken from your Chicken Coop, click on your Dairy Farm, and select "Remove Chicken"

A new feature seems to be (I hope) that you see your own profile in the bottom of the neighbor bar. It showed me however as level 40 though I am at level 41. So it is probably a cached version.

Fall is finally here, and just in time for the arrival of the Baby Turkey! It looks like he has also brought along some new Limited Edition items for you all to gobble up.

As we can read from announcement by Lexilicious. And so it is! We see a good example of the fall items in one of the startup screens. All in all, following the forums, the new decorations were very well received and overall very well liked.

Several startup screens shows some interesting SIX new decorations, THREE new trees and ONE new animal!

1. Three New Limited Fall Trees

It does not happen often that we see the introduction of new trees so this is pretty special: 3 trees at once. that brings the total amount of trees to 20.

It brings both one of the highest paying trees and the lowest paying trees. So just like the introduction of the new magic box items today brings us the lowest and the highest combined.

Players can now GIFT for a limited time the Red Maple Tree. Afterwards you can sell it for 10 coins.

I think when you harvest it you get 10 coins, making it the lowest paying tree of all trees.

But… it is a fast tree. Which makes it really interesting if you are hunting the Wood Ribbon award (see under). So ask everyone to send you Red Maple Trees (or Cherry Trees) if you want to get this blue ribbon the fastest.

The Yellow Maple Tree is beautiful. The interesting thing about the Yellow Maple Tree is not so much the revenue it brings but the harvest time:

image189 New Limited FarmVille baby Turkey and other Fall Items! As you can see it takes 46 hours to grow, like 4 other trees. But… together with the cherry tree it is the only one which can be bought in the shop for Farm Coins.

So if you do not want to rely on gift and you are hunting the Knock on Wood Ribbon it makes a nice alternative to buying cherry trees only (although slightly more expensive and slightly less revenue). You would choose Yellow Maple Trees over Cherry Trees if you are interested in achieving the Knock on Wood Ribbon but also want to have a touch of fall to your farm and remember: they are limited so a bunch of Yellow Maple Trees are much nicer for your farm as investment than Cherry Trees!

The Maple Tree. This one is unique since it shares the unique property of being for sale by FV as only the Acai tree was before in the game.
Furthermore it is now the 2nd highest paying Tree in the game:

The main difference is the cost: while the Acai Tree cost you a whooping 27 FV (maybe 16 via the Magix Box II) this tree costs you only 5 FV.

It means that a 4x4 square of Maple Trees brings you 52.17 Farm Coins per hour. If you compare that to the best earning seed, the Peas: they only bring you 7.65 coins per hour. So the Maple Tree will earn you 7 times as much as the best crop out there (per square).

So you have to choose to spend 80FV on some nice decoration that earn you nothing OR you spend it on a square of Maple Trees that will earn you 1200 Farm Coins per day or close to 40.000 Farm Coins per month extra without doing any extra work but just harvesting the bunch each 2 days.

2. SIX new limited Fall decorations

The decorations screen (note the little icons which change with each new theme) bring us:

maple leaves – very affordable and I think they are nice with the maple trees
yellow maple – very affordable also
harvest table – very affordable also and only 3000 coins. This table look like an object to have around for a longer period than only the fall. It's much nicer than the traditional picnic table and is 7x2 in size and luckily it is rotatable.

These are not the only leaves we have new because in the new Limited FALL GIFTs section we find a third kind of leaves:

	The Red Maple Leaves, which I now have 1000 times in my gift inbox (and the red Maple Tree, see below)/ It's nice to place next to a tree and is only 1x1 like the other leaves.
	The Haystack. After the fall you can sell it for 100 coins.
	The Hay Roll

(the FarmVille Farmers Almanac database has been updated with these three new decorations)

3. One new Limited Fall Animal
