I'm still not sure what accepting neighbor requests does. I have tested it by accepting 7 neighbors. I see that 3 of them replace 3 existing neighbors (the previous neighbors are dropped out and become friends) and for 4 of them it does nothing.
So why is that important? Well… When e.g. I look in my inbox today I see 89 neighbor requests. Normally I just click through them, but since, in the new system, they replace my existing neighbors I first want to understand what the system does exactly.

38 FarmVille invitations in my inbox with 2 kinds of messages, they are created on the "tab"
- Howdy friend! Come be my friend in FarmVille, where you can grow delicious fruits and vegetables on your very own farm!
XXX sent a request using FarmVille:
- Howdy friend! How'd you like to be neighbors? Come join me in FarmVille, where you can grow delicious fruits and vegetables on your very own farm!

I have the following questions:
- what's the difference between the 3 kinds of invites where do they originate from ?
- what's the difference between the 2 types of "FarmVille invitations" ?
- when do neighbor get replaced of my own (I'm near 300 neighbors)
- via what formula or pattern do they get replaced?
- will I show up as neighbor in other farms even when some persons are no longer my neighbor?
- are there methods where I show up as neighbor on other farms when they do not show as mine?
- is there a difference between becoming a Facebook friend and a FarmVille friend? (they all show up in the neighbor screen)
Let's do some tests.
1. Hypothesis: Can only visit Friend once a day
Silverbelle says "then you Neighbor up with someone, you can go visit his farm anytime, but if he's only a Facebook friend who has Farmville installed, you can only access his farm via the Neighbors tab once every 24 hours; it only gives you the "Sarah's farm needs X, would you help her out?" message up there once a day."
So I tested this, just 1 example that proves the opposite should be enough:
My neighbor screen got the following popup above. This is a friend, so not a neighbor. I click the link and I go to his nice sunflower farm. I go back to the main screen and visit again via the link "Go to Robert's farm" and I am there again. So the popup may appear only once but via the link you can visit this farm indefinitely. (I cant see a reason why not).
