If you have not seen it, the winter theme promotion above from FarmVille just landed in my mailbox with the title:

Your winter wonderland awaits you in FarmVille!

Surprisingly they describe Santa as being an elf! But it is a gnome!

gnome:

A garden gnome is a figurine of a small humanoid creature, usually wearing a pointy hat, produced for the purpose of ornamentation, typically of gardens or on lawns. These figurines originate in 19th century Germany, where they became known as Gartenzwerg (literally "garden dwarf"). The application of the term gnome in English is first attested in the 1930s.

elf:

An elf (plural elves) is a being of Germanic mythology. The elves were originally thought of as a race of divine or semi-divine beings (wights, vættir) endowed with magical powers, which they use both for the benefit and the injury of mankind. In pre-Christian mythology, they appear to have been divided into light elves and dark elves, difficult to delineate from the Æsir (gods) on one hand and the dvergar (dwarves) on the other.

Since I just collected from my Ornament Trees, I thought I'd give you an update on them.

The two trees are the 21th and 22nd tree in FarmVille (the Holiday Tree is more or less a building not a tree). They bring balance again between gifting only and coins only trees, since with the introduction of these two trees exactly 10 trees are or were gift-able only and 10 trees are available for Farm Coins (and 2 for Farm Cash).

With these trees we have, now the Maple Trees are gone, again 2 trees who are ideal for "quick harvesting". In other ways: a way to achieve your Knock on Wood Ribbon faster (besides planting Cherry Trees only).

Exactly like the Yellow Maple Tree once was, you can buy it for coins and harvest in the shortest time possible (there are no trees (yet) who harvest faster than 2 days).

In terms of pure revenue they deliver a lot! Basically there is no better tree to spend your coins on. They are the #2 trees ever for producing revenue (only the Acai Tree scores higher).

And finally, when planting them in groups of 4x4, thus creating a forest with squares resembling seeds they are also unbelievable since they deliver the 2nd highest revenue per hour per square ever.

Conclusion: not only do they look good during Winter Holiday 2009 (sadly they are gone next year) but they make a huge profit too. I would advice you to obtain some squares of them.

If you compare e.g. the olive tree (19.48 rev/hr/square) with it: this tree delivers more than 2 times as much!

The FarmVille Calf is the new #1 revenue animal

As you know by now, these sweet looking calves are the products of your dairy farm after you put 1 bull in the dairy farm. And just like the chicken coop it produces "items" that only your friends will profit from by posting them to the wall.

With a size of 1x1 you can fit 16 of them on a square and exactly that property combined with an extremely short collecting time (23 hrs) and a more or less good revenue value (80 coins) make them the new #1 animal for revenue in FarmVille:

As you can see these Calves produce a massive 55.5 coins per hour per square and there is almost nothing out there beating that amount of coins per hour per square, even the #1 tree, the Acai tree only offers a revenue per hour per square of 54.96 coins per hour per square. And… although the chicken is also a 1 day animal it "only" produces 64 coins per hour making it after a very brief #1 location the #2 revenue animal in FarmVille.

So in other words: whatever object you are trying to generate revenue from drop all of that and start collecting these calves!

So if you have the chance to spend an hour or two behind the Facebook wall you should be able to pick up a massive amount of these calves.

If you use reserve a 5x5 squares block in the corner of your farm it will make you make you close to 35.000 coins a day. wow!

The special presents to put under the FarmVille Holiday Tree

If you haven't got the hundreds of friends who dropped a gazillion presents in your Holiday Tree, that is also a good thing because chances are that your tree is not yet full such as mine:

If you scan your Facebook wall you will see messages like this:

when you then click "get a special present", you will get the chance on different colored presents such as these:

	The Purple Present

It's too bad that I can not use these presents any more, so let's hope Zynga adds another round of the possibility to add let's say 10 more presents to the three or maybe remove some presents so that I can add these :)
