FarmVille introduces Dairy Farms

This is the first in a series of buildings "that have a purpose".

The dairy farm can take 20 cows and the benefit is that you collect milk from them all at once. It costs either 10.000 coins or 20 FV (excluding the cows). Note that the building is non-rotatable, so you have to pick a spot where it is most logically placed e.g. the northern border or against another building.

It works like this: after you have placed it you drag your cows into it or, if you buy a new one, you simply click no the building to add it to that building. With each set of 5 cows another cow head appears in the building:

Added 5 Cows Added 10 cows

Added 15 cows Added 20 cows

Note 1: that even if you put pink cows in it, somehow the head of the cow will still be the "normal cow" (I think the designer found that idea over the top).

Note 2: if you put cows in it that are already in a state of ready then it will mix the ready state of the dairy to a certain percentage in between.

Profitability

Now… cows used to be extremely unprofitable / square:

Pink Cow

$ 3,13

Brown Cow $ 2,09
Normal Cow $ 1,04

When compared to e.g. swans ($ 27,83 per hours per square). They only made sense of putting on your land if you wanted to collect the Zoologist Ribbon.

With the new building we have to calculate the room it takes and the profit it makes. That leaves one question open: does the dairy take into account a mixture of pink, brown and normal cows? Or will it deliver just 20* $1.04 ? I have to test that in a day).

So… let me update my spreadsheet and I will come back to you :)

    Did you determine what happens with the mix of cows (pink, brown, etc.) in the dairy farm? Does it default to the regular cow rate?
