30 original ways to lock your FarmVille avatar Part I

A well known trick to speed up farming in FarmVille is locking your avatar so that he or she doesn't walk to all the places you click on. Traditionally normal hay bales are used.

Some users prepare a section on their field where they can lock the avatar (so that it does not disturb the crops field), other place it in the middle of the playing field so that the avatar gets locked immediately.

Here are some original ways to lock your avatar I found:

1. Sergio (level 36) puts him on a Tower	2. Ian (level 38) gives him a graveyard	3. Jesus (level 36) gives him the flags (as well as many others)
4. Ian (level 37) gives him enough light	5. Revathy (level 36) puts him between swans	6. Saron (level 36) between pink hay Bales
7. Sebastian (level 36) puts him between chickens	8. Mohammed (level 36) locks him between a fence	9. Romualdo (level 35) puts him between ducks
10. Petter (level 35) put him between hay Bales and a fence	11. Tia (level 35) between white hay bales	12. Diane (level 35) uses some Halloween decoration
13. Andy (level 35) has some great use for the strawberry mastery sign	14. Stephen (level 36) uses traditional hay bales but there is something scary nearby	15. Well.. Kyle (level 36) uses the gray ones.
16. On Emmanuel's (level 34) farm another hay avatar joined in	17. Harry (level 34) locks him between a flag	18. Henry (level 34) between sheep

Of all I have seen I like the solution of Archit the best: he extends the avatar spot to become the main place for the buildings right to the side of the field:

Leave lost animals IN the gift box!

image9 Leave lost animals IN the gift box! It has been found that if you leave Found Lost Animals in the Gift Box that other people (up to 8 ) can still grab the Lost Animals.
So be Nice to your friends… and leave those found Lost Animals a while in the box :)

Managing your Forest in FarmVille

When you want to save yourself some time, you focus only on 1 or 2 types of trees, especially when you optimize the profit/pixel. However managing the resulting forest can take quite some time. So here are 3 tips:

Make sure that you harvest all the trees at the same time (so they are all ripe at the same time) (wait some time before harvesting the individual ones)
make a wise decision in choosing your trees. when you place 16 trees per square (equaling crop) some will be difficult to manage and some will easy to manage:

	Date Trees are difficult to manage: there is no visibility of the tree being "ready".
	Pomegranate Trees are easy to manage: for each tree that can be harvested a little red dot will be visible.
	Passion Fruit Trees are difficult to manage: there is no visibility of the tree being "ready".
	Olive Trees are easy to manage: for each tree that can be harvested a little brown dot with little thingie under it will be visible.
	Apricot Trees are difficult to manage: there is no visibility of the tree being "ready".

3. Focus on the high paying trees. On http://fv.leau.net you will find in the consolidated tab a list from best tot worst to paying trees. The top five paying trees are:

Acai Trees deliver € 54,96 / square / hour
Olive Trees deliver € 19,48 / square / hour
Date Trees deliver € 16,00 / square / hour
Pomegranate Trees deliver € 15,03 / square / hour
Banana Trees deliver € 12,99 / square / hour
Passion Fruit Trees deliver € 12,94 / square / hour
Grapefruit Trees deliver € 11,59 / square / hour

The rest of the trees are less interesting since they earn € 10 or less / square / hour UNLESS you are trying to focus on the Treehugger achievement then you should basically plant as much as CHERRY trees as possible since they are the only trees that are available via gifts/market which will ripe within 46 hours (acai trees also ripe within 46 hours but a forest will cost you a lot of FV :) ).

Filter your homepage for pink cows on FarmVille

There is a little trick you can do on your wall to filter it to show only posts from a certain application, in this case:

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?filter=app_102452128776

So I you click the link above you will only see posts from FarmVille, that should speed things up a little. You still have to wait but at least the full screen is showing only FarmVille items (which is handy when you have 300+ neighbors).

Do the complete 13 Topiary Set in FarmVille give you something special?

I was thinking … would collecting the complete Topiary set in FarmVille give me something special? (Like the sign for the crop mastership). I couldn't resist the curiosity, so I collected them all and… well … nothing special pops up.

However … do they do make a beautiful Topiary garden complementing my soon to be Villa! (the pink cow will go to the soon to be zoo).

So you may wonder: how much did it cost me? Well.. I had to pay for $10 for the 55 FV. However… writing about FarmVille and the Topiaries made me much more than those $10 in Adsense Income (amazing how many people are out there interested in FarmVille). So in a sense… writing about the Topiaries actually earned me the topiaries and something extra for some other nice stuff :)
