Let’s build a community FarmVille Knowledge Base Together!

I've starting working on the idea of creating a wiki like environment on farmvillechicken.com But I wanted something cooler.

So I'm planning to give EACH FarmVille object a weblog. An example can be seen on http://goat.farmvillechicken.com (just go there to check it out).

Editors can just double-click a blogposting and start editing the content: change the texts and also add images, etc… (of course you also use the backend for this or even Windows Live Writer).

In the end there will be much more information in there then on a "wiki". Since in this weblog-wiki system you can also add personal blogpostings AND people can still comment on all those blogpostings (just scroll down on goat.farmvillechicken.com to see other blogpostings)

So Editors can also ADD blog postings. Which means… if you have some super cool image of "a goat" on your farm and have that to share… simply add a blogpost to the goat.farmvillechicken.com blog! (or to whatever animal, tree, building, etc..) or… if you have some nice tips about it … you also add it. Or a video. Or … well… whatever comes to mind.

So… of course I don't want anyone to edit all blogs since that would enable spammers to really destroy all the content (once in a while they appear). So I've created a group "Editors".

This is a restricted group. If you have interest to be part of this NEW FarmVille knowledge building community / weblog network then just request membership of this group. I will post new updates on there.

As soon as you are a member of this group, the weblogs in this network that you visit and may edit will appear in your top menu, for instance for the goat:

FAQ:

1. For now I have only setup goat and saanens-goat for beta testing purposes to see how it works and gather feedback on stuff that SHOULD be on these blogs or uhm… should not be on these weblogs.

2. For now all users can edit the posts, pages, comments but not yet the sidebar. I'm planning to have 1 user per object "administrator / owner" who then may edit the sidebar content (which is more about the structure and e.g. "all goats list") but I'm still thinking about this.

3. For general topics such as "Mastership", "Co-op" some more specific weblogs will follow.

4. The very latest content is not yet automatically present in a blog format. I'm writing code to make that happen but that will be in a later phase.

5. If your top-menu contains way to much animals/buildings/etc… blogs then simply click the top "My Blogs" to go to an overview screen.

6. This knowledge base will contain some duplicate information that is now in the "almanac", which does not matter. There will simply be 2 Almanacs. One maintained by me only and one by the community. Nice to crosscheck.

So if you are interested to join in this pre-stage beta phase then request membership of the Editors group.

Which music do you Play while farming?

image332 Which music do you Play while farming? I discovered long ago that playing some music while you are gaming incredibly enhances the gaming experience.

It's very enjoyable to turn on my X-Box 360, then start AC/DC where after I switch over to go after killing some Alien creatures whistling my way through armada's of them.

For a game like FarmVille things should of course be something more uhm… nice. So… I was just wondering what your favorite number is while farming your pumpkins (since playing the theme song over and over again will hurt you in the end *grin*).

I particularly like playing Barbra Streisand, Stevie Wonder, Toto and … right now I'm playing "Adore" from Prince. (so not Adore the album of the Smashing Pumpkins although that would probably more suitable).

FarmVille B0V1NE-09 ALARM!

And while we are at day 3 again of the second Free Fuel Week (last day). I noticed something else about the Alien Cow / Green Cow / BOV1NE-09 / B0V1NE-09. IT WAS NOT RENAMED BACK.

The name didn't completely change back. The second "O" is now a "0"…. oh… these SKRULLS are devious creatures/
I have a feeling what this means and it is not good, I think I can not publish it here because I might then run in great danger, I just give 1 hint: Paul mcCartney….

Just a small "B0V1NE-09" history in case something happens to me:

where I Write: It is called "BOV1NE-09" (BO-V1-NE-09) (they should have made the second O a 0 I think) Only now I noticed a fourth name, the FV Gods mention DID THEY GIVE USE A SECRET MESSAGE?:

2) then "they" made a slight mistake which made us, investigators, notice them: they changed color on FV date 140, day 4 of he landing: http://almanac.farmvillechicken.com/yes-the-green-cow-is-a-shape-shifter-skrull-invasion-20091107.html

3) then the name change to "Alien Cow" took place on FV day 153: http://almanac.farmvillechicken.com/bye-bye-bov1ne-09-and-ros-1947-20091120.html What exactly happened here? They infiltrated in our world.

4) On FV Date 172 they start producing offspring. Lethal little weapons of destruction disguised as happy animals.

5) Millions of Alien Cows show up during Christmas / Holiday falling out of a GREEN tree that TRANSFORMS objects (!) My mind goes crazy.

6) then the name changed back somewhat BUT with the second letter now a digit: http://almanac.farmvillechicken.com/farmville-updates-13-jan-2010-the-mystery-animal-crate-20100113.html (I did not update that post yet to reflect my new findings). I can not even write what that means.

I can only advise you one thing: prepare! and DO NOT PLACE Alien Cows on your FARMS DO NOT PLACE ANYTHING GREEN ON YOUR FARM! I even suspect them from causing lots of Out of Sync Problems.

THINK AGAIN:

WHY is this Cow Unhappy? What does this message mean? why a Cow? What is it actually standing on?

Also suspect:

	The green NUT cracker. If it sounds painful: yes it probably is.
	The green soldier. This might be your new job in the best case once they reach their ultimate goal: domination of planet earth.
	If you notice this green flag then be suspicious and call us to log the locations of these flags. They might indicate hidden bases.
	Read what I wrote about the green NUT cracker and you know what will happen to your precious uhm … it…
	Be warned to grow crops like the green tea. You might see the world different after you fall asleep… For the minimal percentage of you who know this poor character and the ending: … : look inside the greenhouse and be convinced of my words.

At the bottom of the pages in the Almanac you will find a new vote button. E.g. at the bottom of the jackalope or at the bottom of the Igloo, etc… you can find the object via the Almanac pages or by searching for them. (0=bad, 10 is ubersuperfreakafantastic).

First of all the 2nd Mystery Box which was available from 2009-11-10 to 2009-11-18.

It contained all existing items and pretty much the highest and lowest FV objects in each category

(see also the original blogpost)

So.. what would it be? A white owl? A Manor? Well…
A WHITE OWL! Cool. Now I have 2.

Next the 3rd Mystery Box which was available from 2009-11-17 to 2009-11-25

It contained some new Holiday Fair Items but also the infamous donkey.

	Next the 4th Mystery Box which was available from 2009-11-24 to : 2009-12-02 It contained all existing items but… also … 1 new item: the green tool shed… (which I don't have) so let's see if we get that: YEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! I HAVE IT!!!
	I now need 3 more for the white ribbon and since I have 3 mystery box 5 boxes I can open these 3 for the white ribbon. This mystery box contained all new holiday 2009 items. And probably the toy chest with the ninja turtle was the hottest but then again the platinum gnome for the gnome collectors was also pretty cool hmmm though the fountain was the uber most greatest to place on our farms. Hmm.. and the holiday gate was very detailed nice well… lol.. let's see:
	The first mystery box 5 item is the Toy Chest. Wow. Pretty Cool. I did not have that one and I was pretty anxious to see the ninja turtle for myself on my farm !
	The second mystery box 5 item is the … Holiday Gate. Very nice details and also an item that I did not have yet. Pretty cool.
	The third mystery box 5 items is the … Gold Sleigh.. wow look at those details. Also an item I did not have, very nice. After I have reorganized a bit I will place some reindeers in front of it.
	And… we have the WHITE ribbon :) We now need 9 more mystery boxes to obtain the RED ribbon.
	The 6th mystery box was available from 2009-12-09 to 2009-12-16 and contained a mixture of items: among others the white barn and the Snow Globe. And I got…. FUEL! Well… I can now run my tractors until the end of time I think :)
	The 7th mystery box was available from 2009-12-15 to 2009-12-23 and contained nice holiday 2009 stuff, probably Santa's workshop was the coolest.
	Santa's Workshop !!! But this is one is most extremely super cool !!! note to self: reorganize your farm :)
	And a Santa Gnome! absolutely love this one. Very nice now to place in front of my Santa's workshop. What a great way to end the year :) cool!
	The 8th mystery box was available from 2009-12-22 to 2009-12-29 and contained a lot of cool new items. Amongst others a new animal: the grey goose (which already have), the stone well, the melting snowman, the porch swing and the sneaky crow. Well…. let's see :) A sneaky Crow :) (unfortunately my second one but we can make something nice out of those two).
	The 9th mystery box is the one that is now currently available and which contain again some very original new items. I think most people are anxious to get the Alpaca out of this new mystery box. Let's open it…
	And we have a SnowMan Family :) Let's see… 4 more mystery boxes to go to the Red Ribbon….
	… meaning 4 chances to get the Alpaca :)
	I hit the jackpot on the first box :) And it also means I have ALL animals ever in the game complete:
	My second Jack in the Box :)
	My second animal statue :)
	My third Snowman Family :)
	Well.. we have reached the RED ribbon of THEY of Mystery
	For the remaining 15 boxes and the blue ribbon I'm going to wait for the next year's boxes. No need to rush this one.
