Sometimes I feel that a part of my daily time is doing FarmVille Support Work while I actually don't know why you write to me and not to Zynga Support haha.
Anyway. I have received for the past weeks multiple times questions on 2 kind of "fake" FarmVille things. So I will just use this post to refer to you in the future, which makes life a little bit easier.
1. FAKE gifts / goods that you receive in your inbox / can send around
Many new users find out that there are "gifting" applications that allow them to send villa's, trees and in some cases even the unreleased items… after some time they begin to wonder "why these items do not appear on their farm ?".
I have blocked a lot of these applications so I will have to find some examples to put HERE (todo) (or mail me some links to these fake communities/comment them and I will post them here)
But people: these are not real FarmVille gifts and they are pretty useless and only annoying since they cost time to click away.
So… ignore them or block them
2. FAKE communities
These are heavy on the rise. My request box fills up with them and they even buy ad space on Facebook:
They promise a lot and of course ask innocent users to invite all their hundreds of friends to to gain special tips, object or farm cash.
Obviously they are just created to sell even more FarmVille e-books / anti-spyware or/and FarmVille bots either directly or as part of an affiliate program:
It works for them of course since I notice that this group has now 1.7 million members (!) So … let's say that 5% actually buys the e-book, thats… a lot of money for the person who starts this community. I estimate even that the FarmVille e-book sales may even be very close the revenue that Zynga/FarmVille itself makes. I must say… it is tempting to start a gazillion of these communities an earn a lot of money. I will write about the e-books some other time.
