FarmVille Gifts from Requests to Bookmarks!
7 Special and Exclusive gifts ONLY on FarmVille.com!
Another update from last Tuesday was the addition of special gifts only available if you login from FarmVille.com to your FarmVille application. So I guess Zynga is slowly trying to create its own FarmVille portal or maybe even it's own Zynga social network. And based on the amount of users I think that is not at all a bad idea (just count up the daily amount of users on all the applications and take a guess at what entry they will enter. As we can see on Alexa the incentives of extra gifts for FarmVille.com might just help or… the decline of the last 3 days (exactly when the specific gifts became available) means… it works counter productive for some reason. (note that Zynga.com scores in the top 100 itself). Still.. being ranked at 2,615 is a dream for most webmasters. (todo: update the links on the right hand side of this blog to show also the farmville.com links).
Anyway… apart from the statistics and Zynga's deeper thoughts on revenue streams let's take a look at what we get :)

So… uh… sigh… this is going to be some updating in the database. I now probably have to indicate if something is a "FarmVille exclusive" and something is NOT a "FarmVille exclusive"… I think I will put that in the comments for now, so we might formalize this later in some form. Let's see if "exclusives" become standard and visa versa because then it really becomes complicated.
Maybe its nice to note that the "exclusive FarmVille.com" items take you to … FarmVille.com (duh). And that they are not so much "expensive" or "big" but more or less small, functional, most of all wooden thingies:

The potted Plant (thank you Maartje and dozens of others) it's available in both and uh.. well.. uh.. its a potted plant… uhm.. thanks… do you like it? uh yeah uhm its kind of uhm original maybe i will put it somewhere deep in my storage.
But… it must be said. THIS is probably the FIRST thing someone thinks of when he hears the word "decoration". So the nice thing of owning this is actually that you have the primary decoration on your farm. If I ever am going to create icons for each of the FarmVille objects categories THIS one will definitely be the prototype icon for "decorations" |

We already had the red glazing ball but now, in the trend of release everything but really everything up to cows and chickens with multiple colors, we also get the GREEN Gazing ball (thank you Sharon and many others) and the BLUE Gazing ball (thank you Balázs Balogh and may others).
Enough jokes have made about the balls. And some, without enough green fingers questioned what they actually were. As stated before they are actually existing decorations for a garden "they give color to a garden" and there is a whole history behind them starting in the 13th century. Do some Googling on it if you are interested.

This is interesting… we had… the barrel (sells for 6)… we had … the barrel wagon (sells for 200)… and now we have the first filled barrel. I can see where this is heading to, soon we will have barrels filled with any kinds of crops, animals, skeletons, bats and soon after that we get the blue, yellow barrels and later on some exclusive black and golden barrels that you only can get when performing special tricks with the barrel wagon. By that time they will nicely sit with our mastery signs :) |

Increase FarmVille Gift To Coin Conversion with new Gift Box Feature!
Today we saw also a new improvement in the Gift Box.
Normally you would receive a gift (up to 30 at one time) and then place them on your land, try to sell it (and more than often get an out-of-sync error while trying to sell a horse) (so no longer selling gifts). But…
Now… we have…. rapapa…. "SELL ALL". This is way cool. I have often hundreds of gifts in my waiting queue and now this feature (if things gets stable around my account again) will allow me to get a lot of revenue from it.
So let me calculate this for you if it is worth your while (this is where you come for to this blog I think). Let's suppose that 30 clicks will take you 2 minutes clicking. What objects are then worth your while doing this?

As you can see, IF the gravestone were still in the game you could get 6000 coins per 2 minutes clicking. I think that is really worth it since that is about the same as selling two large ponds.
Personally I think the first 20 in the list are really worth it collecting via gifts, the rest I would "ignore" while doing it (unless you only have a few gifts then you would take anything available).
Another new feature in the giftbox is that you now can see who gave you the gifts, which is another nice addition to making this a social game. You will get reminded again who these nice neighbors are who gave you the gifts:

New gift: gravestones which sell for 200 coins
Apparently, making graveyards on our farms was something that was appreciated since many players made graveyards with the limited edition TOMBstones, which starting today gave ghostly appearances floating above it.

A little sneaky trick to get more gifts in FarmVille
Especially when you have more neighbors you don't have the time to select individual neighbors for a gift. So… you just select the top of the list to send your e.g. olive trees to.
Some people have found out that by changing their display name … they appear on the top of the list:
Ok… haha … this trick is only for the die-hards who want to squeeze the last little bit out of their luck, however if you want to change it, all you have to do is go to your settings > account settings (in the top menu) and change your Name (so not your username!):
As you can see I have added the " ' " before my name and to push my luck (haven't seen anyone else doing this yet) I have included some letters that are not in my name (just in case that someone is just searching for letters).
